Canadian Inflation Reports: Consumer Price Index (CPI) Release Dates

Inflation reports detailing Canadian consumer prices are released on a monthly basis. These reports on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) are published by Statistics Canada whose mandate is to:

"Collect, compile, analyse, abstract and publish statistical information relating to the commercial, industrial, financial, social, economic and general activities and conditions of the people of Canada."

Consumer prices are gathered monthly and compared to previous months to determine the rate of inflation — how fast or slow prices rise or fall for a basket of goods and services. For the most part, these inflation reports become public about three weeks into a month and cover consumer prices during the previous month. Here are release dates for the Consumer Price Index by month and their associated reference month.
